The regional administration of the Ministry of Interior reported that police in the Irkutsk region prepared four reports about local residents who tried to resell gasoline at inflated prices.
The protocols are drawn up under the Administrative Article on Conducting Commercial Activities Without State Registration or Without Special Permission (14.1 of the Administrative Code). In three cases, gasoline was sold online, and in another case near a gas station.
The Ministry of Interior explained that one of the violators, a 20-year-old local citizen, posted an advertisement on an electronic platform to sell fuel at a price of 250 rubles per liter. After this announcement, the activists reached the “deal.” Police did not provide details about the other three cases.
The previous day, the governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, announced the start of a high alert system in the region in order to prevent an emergency due to the gasoline crisis. Kobzev also recommended that the regional administration of the Ministry of Interior and the administration of the Russian National Guard “ensure observance of public order in waiting queues” and noted that it is necessary to stop attempts to sell fuel “that are in conflict with the law.”
