Starting June 23, fuel truck drivers will no longer need to obtain permits to enter Moscow and move around the city, according to the mayor’s official website.
The owners of gas station networks in the Moscow region and Moscow requested the cancellation of permits. This measure was introduced to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply to gas stations.
Previously, drivers of trucks with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons had to obtain a special permit to move around Moscow. Now there will be no temporary fines for losing a pass. The period during which this measure was implemented was not specified.
Gasoline shortages are growing in Russian regions as Ukraine continues to launch long-range attacks on oil refineries and completely cut off Crimea from fuel supplies. Restrictions on the sale of gasoline have already been imposed in the regions of central Russia, in Siberia and in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Oblast, which accounts for about 40% of Russia’s total annual oil production.
