On Tuesday, June 23, the US Senate adopted a resolution recommending that the US administration end the war against Iran.
50 senators supported the document, and 48 opposed it. Only four lawmakers from the ruling Republican Party voted in favor of the resolution.
The document itself has no legal force and is advisory in nature – legislators only express their position in it. The executive branch of the United States government has the right to ignore them.
