About 10 thousand requests from Muscovites have been fulfilled since the beginning of this year using the capital’s “Removal of Unnecessary Items” service on the mos.ru portal. Most often, citizens throw away refrigerators – they have been recycled more than two thousand times. Next in demand are removing washing machines, of which there are more than 1.9 thousand, and mattresses – 850 units.
Citizens can recycle furniture, doors, bathtubs, small and large household appliances, as well as send cars and motorcycles for recycling. During the entire period of operation of the service, the weight of the exported materials reached approximately 3.6 thousand tons. However, no item was sent to a waste disposal site.
“Removing unnecessary things” helps residents take care of the environment without unnecessary difficulties. Independent transportation of oversized items to a specialized collection point or oversized waste bin requires a lot of time and physical effort.
