Trump threatens Iran with retaliation after the American helicopter was shot down over Hormuz

US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with responsibility for shooting down an American attack helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz. The head of the White House made the corresponding statement on Tuesday, June 9, on his page on the social media network Truth.

The post read: “I have just received information from our excellent military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our high-tech Apache helicopters while on patrol over the Strait of Hormuz… The United States is obliged, of necessity, to respond to this attack.”

According to Trump, the helicopter pilots were not harmed and are actually safe.

A US Air Force AH-64 Apache attack helicopter crashed in the Strait of Hormuz the same morning.

Earlier, Iran launched strikes on American military bases in the Middle East in response to the American attack on the islands of Sirik and Qeshm. In turn, the US Central Command announced the interception of Iranian ballistic missiles and drones launched towards the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf states.
