A driver in Russia is required to replace his license when it expires, changes personal data or identifies health problems. Otherwise, he faces a fine of up to 15 thousand rubles. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry.
The administration listed the cases in which a driver’s license is subject to mandatory replacement: expiration, change of the owner’s personal data, unsuitability of the license for use due to wear or tear, loss or theft, as well as confirmation of changes in the driver’s health, including medical indications for driving that were not previously detected.
Driving a vehicle with an expired license entails administrative liability under Article 12.7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The violator faces a fine ranging from five to 15 thousand rubles, the car being removed from control and the car evacuated to a private parking lot.
The department’s message stated: “If a citizen does not drive a vehicle during the period following the expiration of his driver’s license, he is not subject to any liability.” TASS.
