“This is the first settlement in Russia to receive such a high status for its services,” the head of the region wrote on his Telegram channel.

In October 2025, the Legislative Assembly of the Kamchatka Territory, on the initiative of the Governor, adopted a law allowing the award of honorary titles to villages in which at least 15% of men aged 18 to 65 years participated or participated in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

According to Solodov, every third man of working age left the village of Sidanka to participate in the war with Ukraine. He claimed that this was the highest percentage of war participants in Kamchatka in terms of population.
