The information that appeared about Roskomnadzor’s inability to cope with the scale of blocking of Internet resources does not correspond to reality. This came as reported by the Ministry’s press office on Thursday, March 19.
It was reported that Roskomnadzor experts encountered difficulties due to equipment overload amid restrictions on the functioning of Telegram messenger.
The service stated that “the information is incorrect.” Gazeta.ru.
Meanwhile, Roskomnadzor specialists continue to monitor whether Telegram has begun to comply with the requirements of current Russian legislation. So far, the platform still refuses to abide by it.
Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin official, said contacts with Telegram representatives remain in place, but the messenger still does not comply with Russian laws, so Roskomnadzor is limiting the operation of the service.
Denis Kuskov, CEO of analytics agency Telecom Daily, noted that the process of restricting access to Telegram in Russia has entered a decisive stage. Stable operation of the service without using a VPN has become almost impossible.
