Law enforcement officials in India are investigating the death of a family who suffered watermelon poisoning. This was reported on Tuesday, April 28, in the Times of India newspaper.
On April 26, Abdullah Dudaki, his wife Nisreen, and their two daughters, Aishi and Zainab, were having dinner with their relatives. The four ate a watermelon bought from the market.
In the morning, they showed symptoms of severe food poisoning. Despite this, all the other participants in the feast felt satisfied.
Doctors admitted the couple and their children to the hospital, but were unable to help them. Meanwhile, doctors claim that even eating spoiled watermelon cannot cause such poisoning.
According to gastroenterologist Akash Shukla, some groups of people may experience a severe reaction to fruits and vegetables, but watermelon is not included in this list, explaining Publishing.
Previously, in Odintsovo near Moscow, 27 kindergarten students aged from two to seven years were poisoned – they were hospitalized with symptoms of acute intestinal infection.
