At SPIEF, Moscow will present projects for the Urban Planning Center in Kommunarka

As part of the XXIX International Economic Forum of St. Petersburg, the capital presented the main projects of the capital’s urban planning complex. The objects forming the new city center of the Kommunarka occupied the central place on the Moscow government platform. This was announced on Wednesday, June 3, by the head of the capital’s Urban Development and Construction Policy Complex, Vladimir Efimov.

— The priority direction of urban development of the capital is the creation of economic growth centers that determine the development of the city for decades to come. Future projects in Kommunarka – the MSTU “STANKIN” campus, the Intermuseum depository and exhibition complex and the Grand College – will unite education, science, culture and modern workplaces in a single urban environment. This approach helps to form new centers of commercial and social activity outside the historic center of the capital. Vladimir Efimov, whose words were quoted by the press service of the capital’s Urban Planning Complex, noted that together these projects will lead to the creation of a modern urban center in Kommunarka, where opportunities for training, professional growth, scientific activity and cultural development will be concentrated.

One of the main objects of the exhibition was the future scientific, educational and cultural collection of Kommunarka. It will include a super-college, the Intermuseum depository and exhibition complex and the new campus of MSTU “STANKIN”. Together they form one of the largest integrated development projects for the urban environment in the capital.

As the Urban Development Policy Department added, each of the presented objects solves a specific problem of city development. The Super-College will make it possible to train specialists in demand in the high-tech sectors of the economy, the new campus of MSTU “STANKIN” will unite education, science and modern production, and the depository and exhibition complex will provide access to unique museum collections. As a result, residents have more opportunities to study, work and self-fulfillment close to where they live.

The pavilion presents an interactive model of the Super College with a lifting mechanism that allows you to see the interior space of the future educational complex. More than 16,000 students will be able to study on an area of more than 113,000 square meters. It will include educational buildings, laboratories, workshops and production sites equipped with modern equipment.

Another major facility is the inter-museum depository and exhibition complex. Thanks to the raised-roof design, visitors can view open storage areas for the museum’s collections, exhibition spaces and restoration workshops. After the facility is put into operation, rare works of local and international art will be displayed here, and new public spaces will appear for residents and guests of the capital.

The new campus model of MSTU “STANKIN” occupies a special place at the exhibition. The federal-scale project will become a world-class educational center. For the first time in Russia, academic education, basic sciences and high-tech production will be combined at one site. This approach will make it possible to train specialists in one of the main sectors of the country’s technological development – the machine tool industry.

In addition to the projects on Kommunarka, other iconic elements of Moscow are also on display in the pavilion. Among them are the National Center “Russia”, the renovated Leningradsky Station, the future Dostoyevskaya metro station and the Novorezhskoye Electrical Depot.

The exhibition shows how modern technologies, integrated development of regions and investments in infrastructure help create a comfortable urban environment, new jobs and additional opportunities for Muscovites.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said what the guests of the Moscow pavilion at SPIEF 2026 will see.
