Uzbek cherries have already appeared on the markets. Nutritionist Maria Rumyantseva said about how safe it is to eat berries in May.

— By themselves, imported early cherries are not dangerous to a healthy person. The expert noted that at the beginning of the season, there is a lot of concern for berries and fruits about nitrates, but in practice, for most people, the risks are greatly overestimated.

According to Rumyantseva, most people reject berries and early fruits because of the myth about high nitrate content. The nutrition expert confirmed that nitrates are present in all products of plant origin, as they participate in plant growth regions.

Cherries are also rich in fiber, vitamin C, potassium, polyphenols and antioxidants. The expert advised choosing berries from trusted sellers and rinsing them well before eating them. Rumyantseva also added that you should not eat more than 150 to 300 grams per meal.
