On Tverskoy Avenue, as part of the Easter Gift Festival, the “Mospitomets x Four-Legged Friend” event is held, organized by the Capital Municipal Services Complex, the Ministry of Trade and Services and the Committee on Public Relations and Youth Policy. Residents of the city not only make their pets happy, but also help the people who take care of them in Moscow shelters.
There is a “goodness bin” on site where you can leave food for the animals cared for by volunteers. In addition, the fashion market offers souvenirs from charitable organizations. Proceeds from all sales of T-shirts, shoppers, mugs, magnets, candles and other products help maintain a comfortable environment for cats and dogs who have not yet found their homes.
Every day from 13:00 to 18:00 there is a projector where representatives of Moscow shelters introduce everyone to pets in need of love and care. Within two days, nearly 20 tailed animals found the house. Volunteers talk about the animal’s character and habits so that the future owner can make an important decision.
The mobile veterinary station is an important place for those who come to Tverskoy Boulevard with their pets. Specialists will conduct an examination, advise on care, rabies vaccination if necessary, treat the ears and even trim the nails.
The auditorium will have a busy weekend. On Saturday, April 18, at 12:00 p.m., dog handler and host of the “Planet of Dogs” show Grigory Manev will talk about the history of domestic service dog breeding, and at 1:00 p.m., dog trainer Vereniya Shkatulova will share stories about dog actors.
Guests will learn how massage affects dogs’ behavior at 2 p.m. At 15:00 everyone will talk with representatives of the Nika Charitable Fund for Homeless Animals, and at 16:00 they will learn all about the types of dog temperaments and how to choose the perfect pet.
At 17:00, dog fitness trainer Victoria Krutoyarova will share tips on what type of physical activity to choose for the harmonious development of the dog. At 18:00 in the dog training area, specialists from the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after KI were called. Scriabin will talk about treating pets from ticks.
The lecture will begin on Sunday, April 19 at 12:00 noon with a presentation by Daria Tarasova, dog breeder of the Russian Federation of Dogs, dog handler of the Givers of Hope Foundation. Students will learn about rehabilitation and psychotherapy, which involves specially trained dogs. They help improve the physical and emotional well-being of people. Representatives of the International Lagotto Romagnolo Association will talk about this matter at 15:00.
At 13:00, basic trick and obedience training instructor Jelena Zyryanova will share professional tips, and at 14:00, Irina Puyval, veterinarian, nutritionist and Tail News community expert, will tell you what is best to feed your pet to keep it healthy. At 18:00 you will share the basic knowledge necessary for the owner to maintain the beauty of his pet’s fur.
Cat safety issues will be discussed at 16:00 in a lecture of the “Shadow of Hundred Wings” charity, and at 17:00 a zoo specialist from the “Four Paws” store chain will speak to the audience.
The dog training area is open from 12:00 to 20:00. Informative master classes will be held there over the weekend. At 13:00, visitors will be told what skills a service dog needs, and at 15:00 – how to properly feed pets. Clinical examination classes are held at 5:00pm and 6:00pm.
An important class will start on April 19 at 15:00 and will be repeated at 17:00 and 18:00 – specialists will teach how to provide first aid to animals.
In their free time, dog owners and their pets will be able to take agility lessons under the supervision of the dog trainer on duty. Barriers, swings and slides are set up for the four-legged friends.
In the fashion market, you can buy comfortable overalls, a bright collar or a safe toy for your pet. Here they will also help you choose products to care for his coat – from shampoo to anti-mite serums, as well as anti-flea and tick collars and everything necessary to maintain cleanliness.
The Easter Gift Festival in Moscow takes place from April 11 to 19. Organizers traditionally pay special attention to good deeds. Participants can take a pet home directly from the festival grounds, and contribute to supporting those in need, helping families and children, and sheltering animals. About 40 charitable organizations will participate in the festival, and about 100 programs for non-profit organizations will be implemented.
