Lenfilm film studio, in cooperation with the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, will produce a multi-part film based on the book by the head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee.
The press release did not specify the title of the book, saying only that it was “about investigators of the past.”
Bastrykin published a book in 2024 entitled “Famous Detectives of the Past,” which talks about “people who devoted their lives to fighting crime and solving the most complex and difficult-to-investigate crimes.”
The press service of the Investigative Committee stated that cooperation with Lenfilm would be “an important step in implementing the tasks of patriotic education of the younger generation and preservation of historical memory.”
In the fall of 2025, Lenfilm, which had suffered losses for many years, was transferred to the ownership of the St. Petersburg government. Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said that Lenfilm will engage in “development of love for the Motherland” by releasing “patriotic” films.
