On the first day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, two relatives of Vladimir Putin spoke at the event: the president’s youngest daughter and his great-niece.
Tikhonova, who heads Innopraktika, spoke at the pharmaceutical forum held within the framework of SPIEF. I read the speech via video link, just as I did in 2024 and 2025.
Tikhonova’s speech was intended for import substitution in pharmacology. She stated that more than 90% of government purchases now are “Western production.” Tikhonova also spoke about the Interdepartmental Coordination Council for Pharmaceutical Innovations and the record of priority developments in this area.
“The ultimate goal of all this is full-cycle domestic pharmaceutical innovation, which should provide end users with our domestic developments,” Tikhonova said.
Elena Fesenko, Director of Medicine at Russian Railways, participated in the session “Workers’ health: new vectors and solutions”. She told how Russian Railways’ medicine helps maintain health in the workplace and increase the birth rate.
According to her, Russian Railways employees live several years longer than an average worker in Russia due to the fact that the company maintains medical infrastructure.
In addition, Fesenko spoke about the establishment of men’s and women’s health centers based on antenatal clinics and how doctors discourage women from having abortions.
As the agency notes, Fesenko has been participating in all SPIEF forums since 2017. Tikhonova spoke at the forum for the third time in a row. On June 4, Maria Vorontsova, Putin’s eldest daughter and a leading researcher at the Institute of Medical Research and Education at Moscow State University, will come to the SPIEF forum. She will moderate the session “Career Guidance and Guidance in Medicine. Experience, Best Practices and the Future.”
Putin himself how expectedwill arrive at the forum on June 5. He traditionally participates in the plenary session of SPIEF. The forum itself will continue until June 6.
Ukrainian drones attacked St. Petersburg on the opening day of the International Economic Forum. After the attack, a large column of black smoke was seen above the city. It is believed that the St. Petersburg oil terminal, one of the largest Russian terminals for transporting liquid goods in the Baltic region, caught fire.
