The largest gas station networks in Moscow have begun to limit the sale of fuel. At Tatneft gas stations, there are restrictions of up to 20 liters for AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline, as well as up to 40 liters for diesel fuel, Ksenia Sobchak, correspondent for the “Beware, Media” program, reported.
According to gas station employees, the maximum fuel sale per person was introduced on June 12. On the same day, similar restrictions were introduced at Tatneft gas stations in St. Petersburg.
There is a general limit at Rosneft gas stations in Moscow of 90 liters per tank or can; At Lukoil gas stations they sell no more than 100 liters of gasoline or diesel per receipt.
On June 2, restrictions were imposed on the sale of motor fuel through the ORTK gas station network, represented mainly in the Moscow region and New Moscow. Then Rosneft and Tatneft said that there was no general limit, but depending on the situation, restrictions could be imposed at individual gas stations. Lukoil stated that the sale of gasoline was limited to 100 liters. At that time there were no limits to diesel.
The Ukrainian army strikes Russian oil industry facilities almost every day. At the end of May, Reuters reported that almost all major refineries in central Russia had to suspend or reduce production due to Ukrainian drone attacks.
Independent gas station chains, which account for about 40% of fuel sales in Russia, reported at the end of May that they were unable to replenish gasoline supplies. They noted that vertically integrated oil companies (for example, those that include Rosneft, Tatneft and Lukoil) due to the closure of refineries almost stopped selling oil products on the stock exchange and send everything to their gas stations.
Residents of Belgorod and Ryazan regions, Krasnodar Territory and many other regions of Russia have previously complained about the shortage of gasoline and diesel at gas stations.
The most difficult situation for fuel is in the Crimean Peninsula, which was annexed by Russia. Gasoline supplies are facing difficulty due to Ukrainian drone attacks on the highway linking the peninsula with the Rostov region.
