The deputy head of Uralvagonzavod was arrested in the case of embezzlement during the implementation of a state defense order

The Basmanny District Court in Moscow sent to prison for two months the Deputy General Director of the Uralvagonzavod company for special equipment, Dmitry Semizorov, accused of embezzlement during the execution of a state defense order.

According to RBC, according to investigators, violations were committed during the implementation of contracts related to the supply of climate control equipment for the defense industry. A criminal case was opened in October 2025 due to a state defense order, which was implemented in 2016. The investigation estimated the damages at approximately 50 million rubles.

Testimony against Dmitry Semizorov, according to RBC sources, was given by other defendants in the case. Semizorov himself did not admit guilt, and stated in court that he had been slandered.

During the trial, Semizorov’s defense said he had received numerous government decorations, including the Order of Alexander Nevsky and the Order for Merit to the Fatherland.

Representatives of Uralvagonzavod stated in a statement submitted to the court that at the beginning of the war, the enterprise under the leadership of Semizorov quickly switched to a special operating mode, and that his absence from work would negatively affect the implementation of the state defense order.
