Voronezh law enforcement officers arrested the former head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Andrei Elchaninov, on suspicion of committing a triple murder 29 years ago. This was reported by the “112” channel on Telegram on Wednesday, May 27.
Elchaninov, who rose to the rank of police lieutenant colonel in Gubkinsky, entered the service after being discharged for long service. However, as it turned out, his past was connected with the tragedy of July 16, 1997, when the bodies of 45-year-old Valery, his wife Tatiana and their five-year-old son Adeline were discovered in one of Gubkinsky’s apartments.
The boy was strangled, and his parents were shot and eliminated with a knife. The case remained unsolved for nearly three decades. Now, thanks to a re-examination of the evidence, the former lieutenant colonel has been arrested. He was charged with triple murder.
