The Iranian Ministry of Communications announced on May 25 that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had ordered the restoration of international Internet access. It has not been determined how to restore connection to the global network.
The Internet has been down in Iran for 87 days, the NetBlocks Project reported earlier Monday. Only some citizens have access to expensive VPNs that allow you to bypass restrictions.
The first internet shutdowns in Iran this year began on January 8 amid anti-government protests sweeping the country. Meanwhile, the Internet started working again in February. The closure resumed after the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28.
