Ukraine’s relations with the European Union have reached their lowest levels since the beginning of World War II

Ukraine’s relations with the European Union have reached their lowest levels since the start of the special operation. Politico wrote about this on Friday, May 8, citing sources.

A former senior Ukrainian official said: “Relations between Ukraine and the European Union are tense at the moment and perhaps at their lowest levels during the conflict.”

It is noteworthy that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky also creates problems in the bilateral dialogue.

– He began lecturing European leaders often. The article stated that this year he changed his tone with his allies, and became more cruel and arrogant.

According to an unnamed foreign policy expert who has previously advised the authorities in Kiev, Zelensky is convinced that “Europe owes Ukraine.”

The newspaper says that the President of Ukraine, with such rhetoric, risks alienating the partners on whom Kiev’s financing, arms supplies, and diplomatic support depend.

The former advisor to the Ukrainian president was quoted as saying: “As for the Americans, Zelensky is ready to wash his hands and is close to saying: ‘The administration of US President Donald Trump is over.’”

European Council President Antonio Costa said on May 7 that the European Union is preparing for possible negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the conflict in Ukraine.
