Rosobernadzor banned the inspection of schoolchildren before taking the Unified State Examination this year. According to the recommendations, organizers and law enforcement personnel must not touch exam participants or their property. What changes affected the Unified State Examination and the Unified State Examination for 2026 – in the Moscow evening material.
In 2026, the Unified State Examination and Unified State Examination will be conducted without global reforms. Only targeted changes related to individual tasks, evaluation criteria, technical requirements and point transfer scale have been made, Olesya Mairova, head of the educational department of the State Unified Examination Center “School on Gazetny,” told VM.
What has changed in the Unified State Exam
- In the Unified State Examination in the Russian language, a wide range of sources can now be used to compose tasks. Task 7 has been updated to include different types of grammatical errors in the test material. In articles, a separate procedure for screening texts of 100-149 words has been abolished. Criterion K5, through which reasoning logic is evaluated, has also been modified.
- In the Unified State Examination in Computer Science, the content is not reviewed. The change is due to the technical conditions of the work: test files will be available in .ods, .odt and .txt formats. Therefore, when preparing, it is important to check in advance how these files will be opened and edited.
- In the Unified State Examination in Literature, approaches to evaluating tasks with a detailed answer were reviewed. For comparative tasks 5 and 10, you can now get 7 basic points, not 8. For the large essay, on the contrary, the maximum score has been increased from 18 to 20, and the factual accuracy of the answer is evaluated separately.
What has changed in OGE
- OGE in Russian has expanded the list of sources for composing assignments. Tasks 13.1, 13.2 and 13.3 have been compiled into a single format, and the wording and assessment criteria have been standardized. When assessing literacy and actual speech accuracy, a special arrangement of works ranging from 100 to 139 words is excluded.
- In the OGE in Geography, the sequence of a number of tasks has been modified. It is important to take this into account when preparing, because the habit of completing tasks in a standard order can lead to ineffective time management during the exam.
- The OGE in computer science defines the .odt, .odp, .ods, and .txt file formats.
- In the OGE in the literature, the maximum initial scores for work were increased – from 37 to 45.
- In OGE in history, the maximum primary score was revised from 37 to 35.
How difficult are the changes to pass the exams?
According to the expert, the main risk facing graduates is preparing based on materials from previous years without referring to the trial versions of 2026.
“The most difficult adaptation will be for graduates who prepare using old collections and do not compare tasks with the beta versions of 2026. This is especially true for the Russian language, literature and computer science,” Mairova noted.
A separate risk group is students who rely on templates, the VM interviewer cautioned.
— In Russian language and literature, an accurate understanding of norms, logic of the answer and factual correctness is increasingly important. A formally learned essay structure does not guarantee a high grade if the work contains logical errors or factual inaccuracies. For computer science, risks are related to the implementation technique. The expert explained that if a graduate does not work with approved file formats, he may lose time in the exam even with good knowledge of the subject.
The specialist advised that preparation should only be carried out in accordance with current beta versions, specifications and workbooks for 2026. Old materials can be used to practice topics, but not as a guide for structure, formulation or evaluation.
— The main thing for graduates is to check the changes in the selected topics, take into account the updated assessment criteria when completing tasks and get used to the technical requirements of the exam in advance. “In 2026, tests will not become radically different, but the cost of not paying attention to detail will increase significantly,” Mirova added.
