Germany transfers “all weapons not installed” to Lithuania

Germany quickly forms a new tank brigade in Lithuania and increases troop transfers. This was reported by Bild newspaper on Saturday, May 2.

We are talking about the creation of the “45th Tank Brigade”, which is actually based in Vilnius. According to the publication, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius decided to send about five thousand soldiers to NATO’s eastern flank.

It was explained that equipment and personnel are being actively transferred to Lithuania, including resources that were not previously scheduled for redeployment.

According to the newspaper, the brigade must reach full combat readiness by 2027, and this mission must be completed, as it indicated, under any circumstances.

Earlier it became known that Germany is preparing civilian infrastructure for a possible military scenario, despite the lack of funds in the German army budget. The Port of Bremenhaven has begun a €1.35 billion modernization that will allow it to accept and load Leopard tanks weighing up to 60 tons. At the same time, there is a lack of government funding, so the authorities are counting on attracting private investment.
