Instant messenger scammers use a scam scheme with offers of “easy part-time work” or “remote work” without experience or investment. This was stated in the press center of the Russian Interior Ministry.
“Scammers place ads in channels about making money on marketplaces, allegedly by completing simple tasks, such as reviews, promoting sales, purchasing and reselling merchandise, processing orders or selling gift certificates,” department representatives said.
According to them, attackers often offer a fixed percentage of the task size. They may also ask you to arrange an installment plan for the product and take a screenshot of the available limit. As a result, the money goes to scammers, and victims do not receive the promised reports and payments TASS.
The Ministry of Interior also said that scammers adjust their communication style depending on the age of the victim they are interviewing. In particular, criminals offer fake vacancies, part-time jobs and investments to Russians aged 18-25, which require an “activation payment” or tuition fees.
