Valeeva and Trusova were not included in the main roster of the Russian national team for next season

Russian skaters Kamila Valeeva and Alexandra Ignatova are not included in the initial main roster of the Russian national team, but may be approved in its reserve. This was reported by RIA Novosti on Thursday, May 28, citing several sources close to the situation.

– Because the athletes have not competed in recent seasons, they currently do not meet the criteria for inclusion in the initial main roster. At the same time, it may be included in reserve reports an agency.

Preliminary team rosters were compiled at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Russian Figure Skating Federation in May. They must undergo an approval process with the country’s Ministry of Sports.

On April 15, Alexandra Ignatova said that during one of the performances in the show she was able to regain her triple axel, and described this achievement as a personal victory.

On January 22, three-time Olympic figure skating champion Irina Rodnina said that Ignatova and Valeeva returned to big sports because they no longer knew how to do anything. She emphasized that Ignatova has always been distinguished by her independence and desire to achieve lofty goals.
