On June 10, the “Times and Ages” festival kicked off in Moscow. The day before, “Moscow Evening” monitored preparations for the holiday.
In the Mitino Landscape Park, reenactors from different clubs set up tents in which they will live throughout the festival: from 10 to 14 June. Several reconstructions of the battles of 1812, including the Battle of Maloyaroslavets, will be held here. The head of the “1st Jaeger Regiment” reenactment club, Vladimir Kaplinsky, sews epaulettes on his jacket so that it does not come off during battle. One of the club members, re-enactor Viktor Lilic, is also preparing. And it comes for the twelfth time. He was previously a “soldier in the Russian army in 1812.” This time I sewed a new uniform – a non-commissioned officer at that time.
– But “moving up in rank” is simply impossible. “You have to pass a special test in history, and your merits in the club are also taken into account,” says Viktor Lilić.
At the locations of the Moscow Seasons project areas, visitors will be taken on a journey through key historical eras and events. The program includes 42 projects united in five thematic areas – from ancient theater to secular culture of the 19th and 20th centuries. Guests will be able to get acquainted with the traditions of the Russian Middle Ages, plunge into the atmosphere of the victorious spring of 1945 and the thaw of the 1960s.

Ilya Turovsky, one of the organizers of the “Times and Ages” festival:
— The festival started from a location on Tverskoy Street. Almost all eras are represented there. Later they decided to divide them into different parks and streets.
